Initial feedback found that the original 'natural' approach to branding wasn't very effective and experiments with hand written type would potentially work more successfully. In order to develop vector based hand type I scanned in written type, using the pen tool to trace over to gain the aesthetic of hand written type that can be edited easily (see figure 1-2). It was also suggested that inspiration could be taken from the scientific idea, therefore the concept of 'H, H2, H3' was used as a key feature for the hand type. This type was then used for the basis of the written type for heka (see figures 2), however this looked quite messy and unrefined leading to the incorporation of digital type (Monstratt). Throughout these experiments I've explore the use of bright colours (see figures 3-5) in order to make it stand out against other brands, however the white and charcoal experiments are still the most professional (see figure 6). The use of hand type within the H1 section of the designs works well however I'm unsure it communicates a natural aesthetic due to the limited use of hand type, therefore peer feedback will be gained in order to help establish a way to further develop the outcomes.
